Rudra Namaka Vidhana Purvaka Shodasopachara Pooja

Procedure: 1. First, perform the Poorvangam 2. Next, perform the Vigneshwara Pooja 3. Thereafter, follow the detailed worship procedure given below punaḥ saṅkalpam (Take flowers and Akshata, take a drop of water in your right hand and chant the Sankalpa given below) pūrvokta evaṃ guṇaviśeṣaṇa viśiṣṭāyāṃ śubhatithau śrī parameśvara muddiśya śrī parameśvara prītyarthaṃ śrī rudra namaka prathama anuvāka vidhānena yāvacchakti dhyānāvāhanādi ṣoḍaśopacāra pūjāṃ kariṣye (After reciting this, leave the flowers and Akshata in the vessel and cleanse your hands) dhyānam āpātāla-nabhaḥsthalāṃta-bhuvana-brahmāṃḍa-māvisphurat- jyotiḥ sphāṭika-liṃga-mauli-vilasat-pūrṇeṃdu-vāṃtāmṛtaiḥ astokāpluta-meka-mīśa-maniśaṃ rudrānu-vākāṃjapan dhyāye-dīpsita-siddhaye dhruvapadaṃ-vim̐pro'bhiṣiṃce-ccivam brahmāṃḍa vyāptadehā bhasita himarucā bhāsamānā bhujaṃgaiḥ kaṃṭhe kālāḥ kapardāḥ kalita-śaśikalā-ścaṃḍa kodaṃḍa hastāḥ tryakṣā rudrākṣamālāḥ prakaṭitavibhavāḥ śāṃbhavā mūrtibhedāḥ rudrāḥ śrīrudrasūkta-prakaṭitavibhavā naḥ prayaccaṃtu saukhyam oṃ śrī parameśvarābhyām namaḥ dhyāyāmi (Offer a few flowers and Akshata at the feet of the Lord) āvāhanam oṃ namo bhagavate̍ rudrā̱ya nama̍ste rudra ma̱nyava̍ u̱tota̱ iṣa̍ve̱ nama̍ḥ nama̍ste astu̱ dhanva̍ne bā̱hubhyā̍mu̱ta te̱ nama̍ḥ oṃ śrī parameśvarābhyām namaḥ āvāhayāmi (Offer a few flowers and Akshata at the feet of the Lord) āsanam ta̱ iṣu̍ḥ śi̱vata̍mā śi̱vaṃ ba̱bhūva̍ te̱ dhanu̍ḥ śi̱vā śa̍ra̱vyā̍ tava̱ tayā̍ no rudra mṛḍaya oṃ śrī parameśvarābhyām namaḥ navaratnakhacita suvarṇa siṃhāsanaṃ samarpayāmi (With the belief that you are offering a throne to the Lord, place a few flowers and Akshata at the Lord's feet) pādyam te̍ rudra śi̱vā ta̱nūragho̱rā'pā̍pakāśinī tayā̍ nasta̱nuvā̱ śaṃta̍mayā̱ giri̍śaṃtā̱bhicā̍kaśīhi oṃ śrī parameśvarābhyām namaḥ pādayoḥ pādyaṃ samarpayāmi (With the belief that you are washing the Lord's feet, Show the water from the deity's Panchapatra to the Lord with the Udderani and leave the water in another vessel) arghyam yāmiṣu̍ṃ giriśaṃta̱ haste̱ bibha̱r​ṣyasta̍ve śi̱vāṃ gi̍ritra̱ tāṃ ku̍ru̱ hig̍ṃsī̱ḥ puru̍ṣa̱ṃ jaga̍t oṃ śrī parameśvarābhyām namaḥ hastayoḥ arghyaṃ samarpayāmi (With the belief that you are washing the Lord's hands, Show the water from the deity's Panchapatra to the Lord with the Udderani and leave the water in another vessel) ācamanīyam śi̱vena̱ vaca̍sā tvā̱ giri̱śācchā̍ vadāmasi yathā̍ na̱ḥ sarva̱mijjaga̍daya̱kṣmagṃ su̱manā̱ asa̍t oṃ śrī parameśvarābhyām namaḥ mukhe ācamanīyaṃ samarpayāmi (Show the water from the deity's Panchapatra to the Lord with the Udderani and leave the water in another vessel. Believe that the Lord has now washed his face and sipped the water) vastram a̱sau yastā̱mro a̍ru̱ṇa u̱ta ba̱bhrussu̍ma̱ṃgala̍ḥ ye ce̱māgṃ ru̱drā a̱bhito̍ di̱kṣu śri̱tāḥ sa̍hasra̱śo'vai̍ṣā̱g̱ṃ heḍa̍ īmahe oṃ śrī parameśvarābhyām namaḥ vastrayugmaṃ samarpayāmi (With the belief that you are offering clothes to the Lord, Offer a few flowers and Akshata at the feet of the Lord) yajñopavītam a̱sau yo̍​'va̱sarpa̍ti̱ nīla̍grīvo̱ vilo̍hitaḥ u̱taina̍ṃ go̱pā a̍dṛśa̱nnadṛ̍śannudahā̱rya̍ḥ u̱taina̱ṃ-vim̐śvā̍ bhū̱tāni̱ sa dṛ̱ṣṭo mṛ̍ḍayāti naḥ oṃ śrī parameśvarābhyām namaḥ yajñopavītaṃ samarpayāmi (With the belief that you are offering Yajnopavitam to the Lord, Offer Akshata at the feet of the Lord) gandham namo̍ astu̱ nīla̍grīvāya sahasrā̱kṣāya̍ mī̱ḍhuṣe̎ atho̱ ye a̍sya̱ satvā̍no̱'haṃ tebhyo̍​'kara̱nnama̍ḥ oṃ śrī parameśvarābhyām namaḥ divya śrī candanaṃ samarpayāmi (Moisten the sandalwood paste with water, sprinkle it on the Lord with a flower, and place that flower at the Lord's feet) ābharaṇam pramu̍ṃca̱ dhanva̍na̱stvamu̱bhayo̱rārtni̍ yo̱rjyām yāśca̍ te̱ hasta̱ iṣa̍va̱ḥ parā̱ bha̍gavo vapa oṃ śrī parameśvarābhyām namaḥ sarvābharaṇāni samarpayāmi (With the belief that you are adorning the Lord with ornaments, Offer a few flowers and Akshata at the feet of the Lord) puṣpāṇi a̱va̱tatya̱ dhanu̱stvagṃ saha̍srākṣa̱ śate̍ṣudhe ni̱śīrya̍ śa̱lyānā̱ṃ mukhā̍ śi̱vo na̍ḥ su̱manā̍ bhava oṃ śrī parameśvarābhyām namaḥ nānāvidha parimala patra puṣpāṇi samarpayāmi (Offer a few flowers at the Lord's feet) dhūpam vijya̱ṃ dhanu̍ḥ kapa̱rdino̱ viśa̍lyo̱ bāṇa̍vāgṃ u̱ta ane̍śanna̱syeṣa̍va ā̱bhura̍sya niṣa̱ṃgathi̍ḥ oṃ śrī parameśvarābhyām namaḥ dhūpaṃ samarpayāmi (While ringing the bell, show the lit incense stick to the Lord) dīpam te̍ he̱tirmī̍ḍuṣṭama̱ haste̍ ba̱bhūva̍ te̱ dhanu̍ḥ tayā̱'smān, vi̱śvata̱stvama̍ya̱kṣmayā̱ pari̍bbhuja oṃ śrī parameśvarābhyām namaḥ dīpaṃ samarpayāmi (While ringing the bell, show the lit lamp to the Lord) dhūpa dīpānaṃtaraṃ ācamanīyaṃ samarpayāmi (Show the water from the deity's Panchapatra to the Lord with the Udderani and leave the water in another vessel.
