Achamana Vidhi
There
are
three
types
of
Achamana
methods
–
Śrauta
Āchamanam,
Smṛtyāchamanam,
and
Purāṇāchamanam.
Their
mantras
are
given
below.
Place
the
right
hand
in
the
shape
of
a
cow's
ear
(Gokarṇākṛti),
take
water
from
the
Pañcapātra
with
the
Udṁdharinī
using
the
left
hand,
pour
it
into
the
right
palm,
and
drink
it
silently.
For
the
fourth
name,
release
the
water,
and
for
the
subsequent
names,
offer
Namaskāram.
According
to
tradition,
for
the
remaining
names,
you
may
touch
the
parts
of
the
body.
