Anjaneya Shodasopachara Pooja

Procedure: 1. First, perform the Poorvangam 2. Next, perform the Vigneshwara Pooja 3. Thereafter, follow the detailed worship procedure given below । punaḥ saṅkalpam – (Take flowers and Akshata, take a drop of water in your right hand and chant the Sankalpa given below) pūrvokta evaṃ guṇaviśeṣaṇa viśiṣṭāyāṃ śubhatithau śrī āñjaneya muddiśya śrī āñjaneya prītyarthaṃ yāvacchakti dhyānāvāhanādi ṣoḍaśopacāra pūjāṃ kariṣye ॥ (After reciting this, leave the flowers and Akshata in the vessel and cleanse your hands) dhyānam – manojavaṃ mārutatulyavegaṃ jitendriyaṃ buddhimatāṃ variṣṭham । vātātmajaṃ vānarayūthamukhyaṃ śrīrāmadūtaṃ śaraṇaṃ prapadye ॥ oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ dhyāyāmi । (Offer a few flowers and Akshata at the feet of the Lord) āvāhanam – rāmacandrapadāmbhojayugala sthiramāsanam । āvāhayāmi varadaṃ hanūmantamabhīṣṭadam ॥ oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ āvāhayāmi । (Offer a few flowers and Akshata at the feet of the Lord) āsanam – navaratnanibaddhāśraṃ caturaśraṃ suśobhanam । sauvarṇamāsanaṃ tubhyaṃ dāsyāmi kapināyaka ॥ oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ navaratnakhacita suvarṇa siṃhāsanaṃ samarpayāmi । (With the belief that you are offering a throne to the Lord, place a few flowers and Akshata at the Lord's feet) pādyam – suvarṇakalaśānītaṃ gaṅgādi salilairyutam । pādayoḥ pādyamanaghaṃ pratigṛhya prasīda me ॥ oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ pādayoḥ pādyaṃ samarpayāmi । (With the belief that you are washing the Lord's feet, Show the water from the deity's Panchapatra to the Lord with the Udderani and leave the water in another vessel) arghyam – lakṣmaṇaprāṇasaṃrakṣa sītāśokavināśana । gṛhāṇārghyaṃ mayā dattaṃ añjanāpriyanandana ॥ oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ hastayoḥ arghyaṃ samarpayāmi । (With the belief that you are washing the Lord's hands, Show the water from the deity's Panchapatra to the Lord with the Udderani and leave the water in another vessel) ācamanīyam – vālāgrasetubandhāya śatānanavadhāya ca । tubhyamācamanaṃ dattaṃ pratigṛhṇīṣva mārute ॥ oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ mukhe ācamanīyaṃ samarpayāmi । (Show the water from the deity's Panchapatra to the Lord with the Udderani and leave the water in another vessel. Believe that the Lord has now washed his face and sipped the water) madhuparkam – arjunadhvajasaṃvāsa daśānanamadāpaha । madhuparkaṃ pradāsyāmi hanuman pratigṛhyatām ॥ oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ mukhe ācamanīyaṃ samarpayāmi । (With the belief that you are offering Madhuparkam to the Lord, place a few flowers and Akshata at the Lord's feet) snānam – gaṅgādisarvatīrthebhyaḥ samānītairnavodakaiḥ । bhavantaṃ snapayiṣyāmi kapināyaka gṛhyatām ॥ oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ śuddhodaka snānaṃ samarpayāmi । (Sprinkle the water from the deity's Panchapatra on the Lord with a flower, place that flower at the Lord's feet and believe you have bathed him) snānānantaraṃ śuddha ācamanīyaṃ samarpayāmi । (Show the water from the deity's Panchapatra to the Lord with the Udderani and leave the water in another vessel. Believe that the Lord has now washed his face and sipped the water) vastram – pītāmbaramidaṃ tubhyaṃ taptahāṭakasannibham । dāsyāmi vānaraśreṣṭha saṅgṛhāṇa namo'stu te ॥ uttarīyaṃ tu dāsyāmi saṃsārottārakāraṇa । gṛhāṇa ca mayā prītyā dattaṃ dhatsva yathāvidhi ॥ oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ vastrayugmaṃ samarpayāmi । (With the belief that you are offering clothes to the Lord, Offer a few flowers and Akshata at the feet of the Lord) yajñopavītam – navabhistantubhiryuktaṃ triguṇaṃ devatāmayam । upavītaṃ cottarīyaṃ gṛhāṇa rāmakiṅkara ॥ oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ yajñopavītaṃ samarpayāmi । (With the belief that you are offering Yajnopavitam to the Lord, Offer Akshata at the feet of the Lord) gandham – kastūrīkuṅkumāmiśraṃ karpūrāgaruvāsitam । śrīcandanaṃ tu dāsyāmi gṛhyatāṃ hanumatprabho ॥ oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ divya śrī candanaṃ samarpayāmi । (Moisten the sandalwood paste with water, sprinkle it on the Lord with a flower, and place that flower at the Lord's feet) ābharaṇam – bhūṣaṇāni mahārhāṇi kirīṭapramukhānyaham । tubhyaṃ dāsyāmi sarveśa gṛhāṇa kapināyaka ॥ oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ sarvābharaṇāni samarpayāmi । (With the belief that you are adorning the Lord with ornaments, Offer a few flowers and Akshata at the feet of the Lord) puṣpāṇi – sugandhīni surūpāṇi vanyāni vividhāni ca । campakādīni puṣpāṇi kamalānyutpalāni ca ॥ tulasīdala bilvāni manasā kalpitāni ca । gṛhāṇa hanumaddeva praṇato'smi padāmbuje ॥ oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ nānāvidha parimala patra puṣpāṇi samarpayāmi । (Offer a few flowers at the Lord's feet) dhūpam – divyaṃ saguggulaṃ ramyaṃ daśāṅgena samanvitam । gṛhāṇa mārute dhūpaṃ supriyaṃ ghrāṇatatparam ॥ oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ dhūpaṃ samarpayāmi । (While ringing the bell, show the lit incense stick to the Lord) dīpam – sājyaṃ trivarti samyuktaṃ vahninā yojitaṃ mayā । gṛhāṇa maṅgalaṃ dīpaṃ trailokya timirāpaham ॥ suprakāśo mahādīpaḥ sarvatastimirāpahaḥ । sabāhyābhyantaraṃ jyotirdīpo'yaṃ pratigṛhyatām ॥ oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ dīpaṃ samarpayāmi । (While ringing the bell, show the lit lamp to the Lord) dhūpa dīpānaṃtaraṃ ācamanīyaṃ samarpayāmi । (Show the water from the deity's Panchapatra to the Lord with the Udderani and leave the water in another vessel. Believe that the Lord has now washed his face and sipped the water) naivedyam – maṇipātra sahasrāḍhyaṃ divyānnaṃ ghṛtapāyasaṃ āpūpalaḍḍūkopetaṃ madhurāmraphalairyutam । hiṅgū jīraka samyuktaṃ ṣaḍrasopetamuttamaṃ naivedyamarpayāmyadya gṛhāṇedaṃ kapīśvara ॥ oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ naivedyaṃ samarpayāmi । (While ringing the bell and chanting the mantra below, sprinkle water with a flower 3 times clockwise around the Naivedya) oṃ bhūrbhuva̍ssuva̍: । tatsa̍vitu̱rvare̎ṇya̱m । bha̱rgo̍ de̱vasya̍ dhī̱mahi । dhiyo̱ yona̍: praco̱dayā̎t ॥ satyaṃ tvā ṛtena pariṣiñcāmi (Sprinkle water on the Naivedya with a flower) (sāyaṅkāle) – ṛtaṃ tvā satyena pariṣiñcāmi (Sprinkle water on the Naivedya with a flower) amṛtamastu । amṛtopastaraṇamasi । (Place that flower at the feet of the Lord) oṃ prāṇāya svāhā । (Show the Naivedya to the Lord with Udderani) oṃ apānāya svāhā । (Show the Naivedya to the Lord with Udderani) oṃ vyānāya svāhā । (Show the Naivedya to the Lord with Udderani) oṃ udānāya svāhā । (Show the Naivedya to the Lord with Udderani) oṃ samānāya svāhā । (Show the Naivedya to the Lord with Udderani) (While chanting the mantras below, sprinkle water on the deity 5 times with a flower) madhye madhye pānīyaṃ samarpayāmi । a̱mṛ̱tā̱pi̱dhā̱nama̍si । uttarāpośanaṃ samarpayāmi । hastau prakṣālayāmi । pādau prakṣālayāmi । śuddhācamanīyaṃ samarpayāmi । tāmbūlam – nāgavallīdalopetaṃ kramukairmadhurairyutam । tāmbūlamarpayāmyadya karpūrādi suvāsitam ॥ oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ tāmbūlaṃ samarpayāmi । (With the belief that you are offering Tambulam to the Lord, place a few flowers and Akshata at at the feet of the Lord) nīrājanam – ārārtikaṃ tamohāri śatasūrya samaprabham । arpayāmi tava prītyai andhakāra niṣūdanam ॥ oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ karpūra nīrājanaṃ samarpayāmi । (While ringing the bell, perform camphor Aarati to the Lord) nīrājanānantaraṃ śuddhācamanīyaṃ samarpayāmi । namaskaromi । (Show the water from the deity's Panchapatra to the Lord with the Udderani and leave the water in another vessel. Believe that the Lord has now washed his face and sipped the water) mantrapuṣpam – oṃ āñjaneyāya vidmahe vāyuputrāya dhīmahi tanno hanumat pracodayāt ॥ oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ suvarṇa divya mantrapuṣpaṃ samarpayāmi । (Offer a few flowers and Akshata at the feet of the Lord) ātmapradakṣiṇa – yānikāni ca pāpāni janmāntarakṛtāni ca tāni tāni praṇaśyanti pradakṣiṇa pade pade । pāpo'haṃ pāpakarmā'haṃ pāpātmā pāpasambhava । trāhi māṃ kṛpayā deva śaraṇāgatavatsalā । anyathā śaraṇaṃ nāsti tvameva śaraṇaṃ mama । tasmātkāruṇya bhāvena rakṣa rakṣa janārdanā । oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ ātmapradakṣiṇa namaskārān samarpayāmi । (Take Akshata and a flower, perform three self-circumambulations, and then place them at the Lord's feet) sāṣṭāṅga namaskāram – urasā śirasā dṛṣṭyā manasā vacasā tathā । padbhyāṃ karābhyāṃ karṇābhyāṃ praṇāmoṣṭāṅgamucyate ॥ oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ sāṣṭāṅga namaskārān samarpayāmi । (Men perform Sashtanga, women perform Panchanga Namaskaram) sarvopacārāḥ – oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ chatraṃ ācchādayāmi । oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ cāmarairvījayāmi । oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ nṛtyaṃ darśayāmi । oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ gītaṃ śrāvayāmi । oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ āndolikānnārohayāmi । oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ aśvānārohayāmi । oṃ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ gajānārohayāmi । samasta rājopacārān devopacārān samarpayāmi । kṣamāprārthanā – aparādha sahasrāṇi kriyante'harniśaṃ mayā । dāso'yamiti māṃ matvā kṣamasva parameśvara । āvāhanaṃ na jānāmi na jānāmi visarjanam । pūjāvidhiṃ na jānāmi kṣamasva parameśvara । mantrahīnaṃ kriyāhīnaṃ bhaktihīnaṃ janārdana । yatpūjitaṃ mayā deva paripūrṇaṃ tadastu te । (Take a flower and Akshata, take a drop of water in the right hand, recite the above verse, and place them at the Lord's feet) anayā dhyāna āvāhanādi ṣoḍaśopacāra pūjayā bhagavān sarvātmakaḥ śrī āñjaneya suprītā suprasannā varadā bhavantu ॥ (Offer a few flowers and Akshata at the feet of the Lord) tīrthaprasāda svīkaraṇa – akālamṛtyaharaṇaṃ sarvavyādhinivāraṇam ॥ samastapāpakṣayakaraṃ śrī āñjaneya pādodakaṃ pāvanaṃ śubham ॥ śrī āñjaneyāya namaḥ prasādaṃ śīrasā gṛhṇāmi । (Take water in the right hand, recite the above verse and drink the Teertham three times) oṃ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ ।
