atha gaṇeśapūrvatāpinyupaniṣat gaṇeśaṃ pramathādhīśaṃ nirguṇaṃ saguṇaṃ vibhum yogino yatpadaṃ yānti taṃ gaurīnandanaṃ bhaje oṃ namo varadāya vighnahartre athāto brahmopaniṣadaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ brahmā devānāṃ savituḥ kavīnāmṛṣirviprāṇāṃ mahiṣo mṛgāṇām dhātā vasūnāṃ surabhiḥ sṛjānāṃ namo brahmaṇe'tharvaputrāya mīḍhuṣe dhātā devānāṃ prathamaṃ hi ceto mano vanānīva manasā'kalpayadyaḥ namo brahmaṇe brahmaputrāya tubhyaṃ jyeṣṭhāyātharvaputrāya dhanvine 1 oṃ prajāpatiḥ prajā asṛjata tāḥ sṛṣṭā abruvan kathamannādyā abhavanniti sa tredhā vyabhajadbhūrbhuvaḥsvariti sa tapo'tapyata sa brahmā sa viṣṇuḥ sa śivaḥ sa prajāpatiḥ sendraḥ so'gniḥ samabhavat sa tūṣṇīṃ manasā dhyāyan kathamime'nnādyāḥ syuriti so'paśyadātmanā''tmānaṃ gajarūpadharaṃ devaṃ śaśivarṇaṃ caturbhujaṃ yato imāni bhūtāni jāyante yato vāyanti yatraiva yanti ca tadetadakṣaraṃ paraṃ brahma etasmājjāyate prāṇo manaḥ sarvendriyāṇi ca khaṃ vāyurāpo jyotiḥ pṛthivī viśvasya dhāriṇī puruṣa evedaṃ viśvaṃ tapo brahma parāmṛtamiti 2 so'stuvata namo brahmaṇe namo brāhmaṇebhyo namo vedebhyo nama ṛṣibhyo namaḥ kulyebhyaḥ prakulyebhyo namaḥ savitre prasavitre namo bhojyāya prakṛṣṭāya kapardine cakrāya cakradharāyānnāyānnapataye śivāya sadāśivāya turyāya turīyāya bhūrbhuvaḥsvaḥpate rāyaspate vājipate gopate ṛgyajuḥsāmātharvāṅgiraḥpate namo brahmaputrāyeti 3 so'bravīdvarado'smyahamiti sa prajāpatirabravītkathamime'nnādyāḥ syuriti sa hovāca brahmaputrastapastepe siddhakṣetre mahāyaśāḥ sa sarvasya vaktā sarvasya jñātāsīti sa hovāca tapasyantaṃ siddhāraṇye bhṛguputraṃ pṛcchadhvamiti te pratyāyayuḥ sa hovāca kimetaditi te hocuḥ kathaṃ vayamannādyā bhavāma iti sa tūṣṇīṃ manasā dhyāyan kathamime'nnādyāḥ syuriti sa etamānuṣṭubhaṃ mantrarājamapaśyat yadidaṃ kiñca sarvamasṛjata tasmātsarvānuṣṭubhamityācakṣate yadidaṃ kiñca anuṣṭubhā imāni bhūtāni jāyante anuṣṭubhā jātāni jīvantyanuṣṭubhaṃ prayantyabhisaṃviśanti tasyaiṣā bhavati anuṣṭupprathamā bhavatyanuṣṭubuttamā bhavati vāgvā anuṣṭubvācaiva prayanti vācaivodyanti paramā eṣā chandasāṃ yadanuṣṭup sarvamanuṣṭup etaṃ mantrarājaṃ yaḥ paśyati sa paśyati sa bhuktiṃ muktiṃ ca vindati tena sarvajñānaṃ bhavati tadetannidarśanaṃ bhavati ; eko devaḥ prāpako yo vasūnāṃ śriyā juṣṭaḥ sarvatobhadra eṣaḥ māyādevo balagahano brahmārātīstaṃ devamīḍe dakṣiṇāsyam ā na indra kṣumantaṃ citraṃ grābhaṃ saṅgṛbhāya mahāhastī dakṣiṇena iti sahasrakṛtvastuṣṭāva 4 athāpaśyanmahādevaṃ śriyā juṣṭaṃ madotkaṭam sanakādimahāyogivedavidbhirupāsitam druhiṇādimadeveśaṣaṭpadālivirājitam lasatkarṇaṃ mahādevaṃ gajarūpadharaṃ śivam sa hovāca varado'smīti sa tūṣṇīṃ manasā vavre sa tatheti hovāca tadeṣa ślokaḥ ; sa saṃstuto daivatadevasūnuḥ sutaṃ bhṛgorvākyamuvāca tuṣṭaḥ avehi māṃ bhārgava vakratuṇḍamanāthanāthaṃ triguṇātmakaṃ śivam atha tasya ṣaḍaṅgāni prādurbabhūvuḥ sa hovāca japadhvamānuṣṭubhaṃ mantrarāja ṣaṭpadaṃ saṣaḍakṣaram iti yo japati sa bhūtimān bhavatīti yūyamannādyā bhaveyuriti tadetannidarśanam ; gaṇānāṃ tvā gaṇanāthaṃ surendraṃ kaviṃ kavīnāmatimedhavigraham jyeṣṭharājaṃ vṛṣabhaṃ ketumekaṃ naḥ śṛṇvannūtibhiḥ sīda śāśvat 5 te hocuḥ kathamānuṣṭubhaṃ mantrarājamabhijānīma iti sa etamānuṣṭubhaṃ ṣaṭpadaṃ mantrarāja kathayāñcakre sa sāma bhavati ṛgvai gāyatrī yajuruṣṇiganuṣṭup sāma sa ādityo bhavati ṛgvai vasuryajū rudrāḥ sāmādityā iti sa ṣaṭpado bhavati sāma vai ṣaṭpadaḥ sasāgarāṃ saptadvīpāṃ saparvatāṃ vasundharāṃ tatsāmnaḥ prathamaṃ pādaṃ jānīyādrāyaspoṣasya dāteti tena saptadvīpādhipo bhavati bhūḥpatitvaṃ ca gacchati yakṣagandharvāpsarogaṇasevitamantarikṣaṃ dvitīyaṃ pādaṃ jānīyānnidhidāteti tena dhanadādikāṣṭhāpatirbhavati bhuvaḥpatitvaṃ ca gacchati vasurudrādityaiḥ sarvairdevaiḥ sevitaṃ divaṃ tatsāmnastṛtīyaṃ pādaṃ jānīyādannado mata iti tena devādhipatyaṃ svaḥpatitvaṃ ca gacchati ṛgyajuḥsāmātharvāṅgirogaṇasevitaṃ brahmalokaṃ turyaṃ pādaṃ jānīyādrakṣohaṇa iti tena devādhipatyaṃ brahmādhipatyaṃ ca gacchati vāsudevādicaturvyūhasevitaṃ viṣṇulokaṃ tatsāmnaḥ pañcamaṃ pādaṃ jānīyādbalagahana iti tena sarvadevādhipatyaṃ viṣṇulokādhipatyaṃ ca gacchati brahmasvarūpaṃ nirañjanaṃ paramavyomnikaṃ tatsāmnaḥ ṣaṣṭhaṃ pādaṃ jānīyāt tena vakratuṇḍāya humiti yo jānīyātso'mṛtatvaṃ ca gacchati satyalokādhipatyaṃ ca gacchati 6 ṛgyajuḥsāmātharvāścatvāraḥ pādā bhavanti rāyaspoṣasya dātā ceti prathamaḥ pādo bhavati ṛgvai prathamaḥ pādaḥ nidhidātā'nnado mata iti dvitīyaḥ pādaḥ yajurvai dvitīyaḥ pādaḥ rakṣohaṇo vo balagahana iti tṛtīyaḥ pādaḥ sāma vai tṛtīyaḥ pādaḥ vakratuṇḍāya humiti caturthaḥ pādaḥ atharvaścaturthaḥ pādo'tharvaścaturthaḥ pāda iti 7 iti gaṇeśapūrvatāpinyupaniṣatsu prathamopaniṣat 1 sa hovāca prajāpatiragnirvai vedā idaṃ sarvaṃ viśvāni bhūtāni virāṭ svarāṭ samrāṭ tatsāmnaḥ prathamaṃ pādaṃ jānīyāt ṛgyajuḥsāmātharvarūpaḥ sūryo'ntarāditye hiraṇmayaḥ puruṣastatsāmno dvitīyaṃ pādaṃ jānīyāt ya oṣadhīnāṃ prabhavitā tārāpatiḥ somastatsāmnastṛtīyaṃ pādaṃ jānīyāt yo brahmā tatsāmnaścaturthaṃ pādaṃ jānīyāt yo haristatsāmnaḥ pañcamaṃ pādaṃ jānīyāt yaḥ śivaḥ sa paraṃ brahma tatsāmno'ntyaṃ pādaṃ jānīyāt yo jānīte so'mṛtatvaṃ ca gacchati paraṃ brahmaiva bhavati tasmādidamānuṣṭubhaṃ sāma yatra kvacinnācaṣṭe yadi dātumapekṣate putrāya śuśrūṣave dāsyatyanyasmai śiṣyāya veti 1 tasya hi ṣaḍaṅgāni bhavanti ; oṃ hṛdayāya namaḥ, śirase svāhā, śikhāyai vaṣaṭ, kavacāya hum netratrayāya vauṣaṭ, astrāya phaḍiti prathamaṃ prathamena dvitīyaṃ dvitīyena tṛtīyaṃ tṛtīyena caturthaṃ caturthena pañcamaṃ pañcamena ṣaṣṭhaṃ ṣaṣṭhena pratyakṣaramubhayato māyā lakṣmīśca bhavati māyā eṣā vaināyakī sarvamidaṃ sṛjati sarvamidaṃ rakṣati sarvamidaṃ saṃharati tasmānmāyāmetāṃ śaktiṃ veda sa mṛtyuṃ jayati sa pāpmānaṃ tarati sa mahatīṃ śriyamaśnute so'bhivādī ṣaṭkarmasaṃsiddho bhavatyamṛtatvaṃ ca gacchati mīmāṃsante brahmavādino hrasvā dīrghā plutā veti yadi hrasvā bhavati sarvapāpmānaṃ taratyamṛtatvaṃ ca gacchati yadi dīrghā bhavati mahatīṃ śriyamāpnuyādamṛtatvaṃ ca gacchati yadi plutā bhavati jñānavān bhavatyamṛtatvaṃ ca gacchati tadetadṛṣiṇoktaṃ nidarśanam ; sa īṃ pāhi ya ṛjīṣī tarudraḥ sa śriyaṃ lakṣmīmaupalāṃbikāṃ gām ṣaṣṭhīṃ ca yāmindrasenetyuta āhustāṃ vidyāṃ brahmayonisvarūpām tāmihāyuṣe śaraṇaṃ prapadye kṣīrodārṇavaśāyinaṃ kalpadrumādhaḥsthitaṃ varadaṃ vyomarūpiṇaṃ pracaṇḍadaṇḍadordaṇḍaṃ vakratuṇḍasvarūpiṇaṃ pārśvādhaḥsthitakāmadhenuṃ śivomātanayaṃ vibhum rukmāṃbaranibhākāśaṃ raktavarṇaṃ caturbhujam kapardinaṃ śivaṃ śāntaṃ bhaktānāmabhayapradam unnataprapadāṅguṣṭhaṃ gūḍhagulphaṃ sapārṣṇikam pīnajaṅghaṃ gūḍhajānuṃ sthūloruṃ pronnamatkaṭim nimnanābhiṃ kaṃbukaṇṭhaṃ laṃboṣṭhaṃ laṃbanāsikam siddhibuddhyubhayāśliṣṭaṃ prasannavadanāṃbujam iti saṃsargaḥ 2 atha chandodaivatam anuṣṭupchando bhavati dvātriṃśadakṣarānuṣṭuba bhavati anuṣṭubhā sarvamidaṃ sṛṣṭamanuṣṭubhā sarvamupasaṃhṛtam śivomāyutaḥ paramātmā varado devatā te hocuḥ kathaṃ śivomāyuta iti sa hovāca bhṛguputraḥ prakṛtipuruṣamayo hi sa dhanada iti prakṛtirmāyā puruṣaḥ śiva iti so'yaṃ viśvātmā devateti tadetannidarśanam ; indro māyābhiḥ puruhūta īḍe śarvo viśvaṃ māyayā sviddadhāra so'jaḥ śete māyayā svidguhāyāṃ viśvaṃ nyastaṃ viṣṇureko vijajñe tadetanmāyā haṃsamayī devānām sarveṣāṃ etadbhūtānāmākāśaḥ parāyaṇam sarvāṇi ha imāni bhūtānyākāśādeva jāyante jātāni jīvantyākāśaṃ prayantyabhisaṃviśanti tasmādākāśabījaṃ śivo vidyāt tadetannidarśanam ; haṃsaḥ śuciṣadvasurantarikṣasaddhotā vediṣadatithirduroṇasat nṛṣadvarasadṛtasadvyomasadabjā gojā ṛtajā adrijā ṛtaṃ bṛhaditi 3 athādhiṣṭhānam ; madhye binduṃ trikoṇaṃ tadanu ṛtugaṇaṃ vasudalaṃ dvādaśāraṃ ṣoḍaśakarṇiketi madhye bījātmakaṃ devaṃ yajet vāmadakṣiṇe siddhirbuddhiḥ agre kāmadughā ṣaṭkoṇe sumukhādayaḥ ṣaḍvināyakāḥ vasudale vakratuṇḍādyaṣṭavināyakāḥ dvādaśāre baṭuko vāmano mahādaśakamahodarau subhadro mālī varo rāma umā śivaḥ skando nandī tadbāhye'ṇimādisiddhayaḥ ṣoḍaśāre dikpālāḥ sāyudhā iti 4 atha prasāraḥ ; ya etena caturthīṣu pakṣayorubhayorapi lakṣaṃ juhuyādapūpānāṃ tatkṣaṇāddhanado bhavet siddhaudanaṃ trimāsaṃ tu juhvadagnāvananyadhīḥ tāvajjuhvatpṛthukānhi sākṣādvaiśravaṇo bhavet uccāṭayedvibhītaiśca mārayedviṣavṛkṣajaiḥ vaśyāya paṅkajairvidvāndhanārthī modakairhunet evaṃ jñātvā kṛtakarmā bhavati kṛtakarmā bhavatīti 5 iti gaṇeśapūrvatāpinyupaniṣatsu dvitīyopaniṣat 2 atha hovāca bhṛguputrastantraṃ vijijñāsitavyamiti mūle śūnyaṃ vijānīyāt śūnyaṃ vai paraṃ brahma tatra satāraṃ samāyaṃ sāma nyasettrirekhaṃ bhavati trayo hīme lokāstrayo hīme vedāḥ ṛgvai bhūḥ māyā bhavati yajurvai bhuvaḥ sa śivo bhavati sāma vai svaḥ sa hiraṇyagarbho bhavati ṣaṭkoṇaṃ bhavati ṣaḍ hīme lokāḥ ṣaḍḍhā ṛtavo bhavanti tatra tāramāyāramāmāraviśveśadharaṇīkramānnyaset aṣṭapatraṃ bhavatyaṣṭākṣarā gāyatrī bhavati brahmagāyatrīṃ nyaset dvādaśapatra bhavati dvādaśādityā bhavanti te svarā bhavanti svarān jñātvādityalokamaśnute ṣoḍaśapatraṃ bhavati ṣoḍaśakalo vai puruṣo varṇo ha vai puruṣaḥ sa lokādhiṣṭhito bhavatyanuṣṭub vai puruṣaḥ 1 sa hovāca bhṛguputra etamānuṣṭubhaṃ mantrarājaṃ sāṅgaṃ saprasṛtikaṃ samāyaṃ sādhiṣṭhānaṃ satantraṃ yo jānāti sa bhūtimān bhavati so'mṛtatvaṃ ca gacchati so'mṛtatvaṃ ca gacchatīti 2 iti gaṇeśapūrvatāpinyupaniṣatsu tṛtīyopaniṣat 3 ityātharvaṇīyā gaṇeśapūrvatāpinyupaniṣatsamāptā atha gaṇeśottaratāpinyupaniṣat oṃ omityekākṣaraṃ brahmedaṃ sarvam tasyopavyākhyānam sarvaṃ bhūtaṃ bhavyaṃ bhaviṣyaditi sarvamoṅkāra eva etaccānyacca trikālātītaṃ tadapyoṅkāra eva sarvaṃ hyetadgaṇeśo'yamātmā brahmeti so'yamātmā catuṣpāt jāgaritasthāno bahiḥprajñaḥ saptāṅga ekonaviṃśatimukhaḥ sthūlabhugvaiśvānaraḥ prathamaḥ pādaḥ svapnasthāno'ntaḥprajñaḥ saptāṅga ekonaviṃśatimukhaḥ praviviktabhuk taijaso dvitīyaḥ pādaḥ yatra supto na kañcana kāmaṃ kāmayate na kañcana svapnaṃ paśyati tatsuṣuptam suṣuptisthāna ekībhūtaḥ prajñānaghana evānandabhuk cetomukhaḥ prājñastṛtīyaḥ pādaḥ eṣa sarveśvara eṣa sarvajña eṣo'ntaryāmyeṣa yoniḥ sarvasya prabhavāpyayau hi bhūtānām nāntaḥprajñaṃ na bahiḥprajñaṃ nobhayataḥprajñaṃ na prajñaṃ nāprajñaṃ na prajñānaghanamadṛṣṭa-mavyavahāryamagrāhyamalakṣaṇa-macintyamavyapadeśya-maikātmyapratyayasāraṃ prapañcopaśamaṃ śivamadvaitaṃ caturthaṃ manyante sa gaṇeśa ātmā vijñeyaḥ sadojjvalo vidyātatkāryahīnaḥ svātmabandharahitaḥ sarvadoṣarahita ānandarūpaḥ sarvādhiṣṭhānaḥ sanmātro nirastāvidyātamomohameveti saṃbhāvyāhamoṃ tatsatparaṃ brahma vighnarājaścidātmakaḥ so'hamoṃ tadvināyakaṃ paraṃ jyotī raso'hamityātmānamādāya manasā brahmaṇaikīkuryāt vināyako'hamityetattattvataḥ pravadanti ye na te saṃsāriṇo nūnaṃ pramodo vai na saṃśayaḥ ityupaniṣat ya evaṃ veda sa mukhyo bhavatīti yājñavalkya iti yājñavalkya iti etadeva paraṃ dhyānametadeva paraṃ tapaḥ vināyakasya yajjñānaṃ pūjanaṃ bhavamocanam aśvamedhasahasrāṇi vājapeyaśatāni ca ekasya dhyānayogasya kalāṃ nārhanti ṣoḍaśīm iti gaṇeśottaratāpinyupaniṣatsu prathamopaniṣat 1 oṃ sa viṣṇuḥ sa śivaḥ sa brahmā sendraḥ senduḥ sa sūryaḥ sa vāyuḥ so'gniḥ sa brahmāyamātmane sarvadevāya ātmane bhūtāya ātmana iti manyante oṃ so'haṃ oṃ so'haṃ oṃ so'hamiti oṃ brahman oṃ brahman oṃ brahmanniti oṃ śivaṃ oṃ śivaṃ oṃ śivamiti taṃ gaṇeśaṃ taṃ gaṇeśamidaṃ śreṣṭham oṃ gaṇānāṃ tvā gaṇapatiḥ sapriyāṇāṃ tvā priyapatiḥ sanidhīnāṃ tvā nidhipatiḥ oṃ tatpuruṣāya vidmahe vakratuṇḍāya dhīmahi tanno dantī pracodayāt oṃ tadgaṇeśaḥ oṃ sadgaṇeśaḥ oṃ paraṃ gaṇeśaḥ oṃ brahma gaṇeśaḥ gaṇanākāro nādaḥ etatsarvo nādaḥ sarvākāro nādaḥ etadākāro nādaḥ mahānnādaḥ sa gaṇeśo mahān bhavati so'ṇurbhavati sa vandyo bhavati sa mukhyo bhavati sa pūjyo bhavati rūpavān bhavati arūpavān bhāvati dvaito bhavati advaito bhavati sthāvarasvarūpavān bhavati jaṅgamasvarūpavān bhavati sacetanavicetano bhavati sarvaṃ bhavati sa gaṇeśo'vyakto yo'ṇuryaḥ śreṣṭhaḥ sa vai vegavattaraḥ ahrasvāhrasvaśca atihrasvātihrasvātihrasvaśca asthūlāsthūlāsthūlaśca oṃ na vāyurnāgnirnākāśo nāpaḥ pṛthivī na ca na dṛśyaṃ na dṛśyaṃ na dṛśyam na śītaṃ noṣṇaṃ na varṣaṃ ca na pītaṃ na pītaṃ na pītam na śvetaṃ na śvetaṃ na śvetam na raktaṃ na raktaṃ na raktaṃ na kṛṣṇaṃ na kṛṣṇaṃ na kṛṣṇam na rūpaṃ na nāma na guṇam na prāpyaṃ gaṇeśaṃ manyante sa śuddhaḥ sa śuddhaḥ sa śuddho gaṇeśaḥ sa brahma sa brahma sa brahma gaṇeśaḥ sa śivaḥ sa śivaḥ sa śivo gaṇeśaḥ indro gaṇeśo viṣṇurgaṇeśaḥ sūryo gaṇeśa etatsarvaṃ gaṇeśaḥ sa nirguṇaḥ sa nirahaṅkāraḥ sa nirvikalpaḥ sa nirīhaḥ sa nirākāra ānandarūpastejorūpamanirvācyamaprameyaḥ purātano gaṇeśo nigadyate sa ādyaḥ so'kṣaraḥ so'nantaḥ so'vyayo mahānpuruṣaḥ tacchuddhaṃ tacchabalaṃ tataḥ prakṛtimahattattvāni jāyante tataścāhaṅkārādi pañcatanmātrāṇi jāyante tataḥ pṛthvyaptejovāyvākāśa pañcamahadbhūtāni jāyante pṛthivyā oṣadhaya oṣadhībhyo'nnamannādretastataḥ puruṣastataḥ sarvaṃ tataḥ sarvaṃ tataḥ sarvaṃ tataḥ sarvaṃ jagat sarvāṇi bhūtāni jāyante devā nu jāyante tataśca jīvanti devā nu jīvanti yajñā nu jīvanti sarvaṃ jīvati sa gaṇeśa ātmā vijñeyaḥ ityupaniṣat ya evaṃ veda sa mukhyo bhavatīti yājñavalkya iti yājñavalkya iti iti gaṇeśottaratāpinyupaniṣatsu dvitīyopaniṣat 2 oṃ gaṇeśo vai brahma tadvidyāt yadidaṃ kiñca sarvaṃ bhūtaṃ bhavyaṃ jāyamānaṃ ca tatsarvamityācakṣate asmānnātaḥ paraṃ kiñcit yo vai veda sa veda brahma brahmaivopāpnoti tatsarvamityācakṣate brahmaviṣṇvādigaṇānāmīśabhūtamityāha tadgaṇeśa iti tatparamityāha yamete nāpnuvanti pṛthivī suvarcā yuvatiḥ sajoṣāḥ yadvai vāṅ nākrāmati manasā saha nāgnirna pṛthvī na tejo na vāyurna vyoma na jalamityāha nendriyaṃ na śarīraṃ na nāma na rūpam na śuklaṃ na raktaṃ na pītaṃ na kṛṣṇamiti na jāgranna svapno na suṣuptirna vai turīyā tacchuddhamaprāpyamaprāpyaṃ ca ajñeyaṃ cājñeyaṃ ca vikalpāsahiṣṇu tatsaśaktikaṃ gajavaktraṃ gajākāraṃ jagadevāvarundhe divamanantaśīrṣairdiśamanantakarairvyomānanta-jaṭharairmahīmanantapādaiḥ svatejasā bāhyāntarīyānvyāpya tiṣṭhatītyāha tadvai paraṃ brahma gaṇeśa ityātmānaṃ manyante tadvai sarvataḥ paśyati sma na kiñciddadarśa tato vai so'hamabhūt naikākitā yukteti guṇānnirmame nāme rajaḥ sa vai brahmā mukhātsattvaṃ sa vai viṣṇuḥ nayanāttamaḥ sa vai haraḥ brahmāṇamupadiśati sma brahman kuru sṛṣṭim brahmovāca nāhaṃ vedmi gaṇeśa uvāca maddehe brahmāṇḍāntargataṃ vilokaya tathāvidhāmeva kuru sṛṣṭim atha brahmā janmadvāreṇa brahmāṇḍāntargataṃ vilokayati sma samudrān saritaḥ parvatān vanāni mahīṃ divaṃ pātālaṃ ca narān paśūnmṛgānnāgān hayān govrajān sūryācandramaso nakṣatrāṇyagnīn vāyūndiśastato vai sṛṣṭimacīkarat tataścātmānamiti manyate sma na vai mattaḥ paraṃ kiñcidahameva sarvasyeśa iti yāvadvadati tāvatkrūrā ajāyeran mahaddehā jihvayā bhuvaṃ lihānā daṃṣṭrāvyāptākāśā mahacchabdā brahmāṇaṃ hantumudyuktāḥ tāndṛṣṭvābibhyattatsaṃsmāra tataścāgre koṭisūryapratīkāśamānandarūpaṃ gajavaktraṃ vilokayati sma tuṣṭāvātha gaṇeśvaram tvaṃ nirmātā kṣmābhṛtāṃ saritāṃ sāgarāṇāṃ sthāvarāṇāṃ jaṅgamānāṃ ca tvattaḥ parataraṃ kiñcinnaivāsti jagataḥ prabho kartā sarvasya viśvasya pātasaṃhārakārakaḥ bhavānidaṃ jagatsarvaṃ vyāpyaiva paritiṣṭhati iti stutvā brahmāṇaṃ taduvāca brahmaṃstapasva tapasvetyuktvā'ntarhite tasmin brahmā tapaścacāra kiyatsvatīteṣvanehaḥsu tapasi sthite brahmaṇi puro bhūtvovāca prasanno'haṃ prasanno'haṃ varān varaya śrutvaivaṃ vaconmīlya nayane yāvatpuraḥ paśyati tāvadgaṇeśaṃ dadarśa stauti sma tvaṃ brahmā tvaṃ viṣṇustvaṃ harastvaṃ prajāpatistvamindrastvaṃ sūryastvaṃ somastvaṃ gaṇeśaḥ tvayā vyāptaṃ carācaraṃ tvadṛte na hi kiñcana tataśca gaṇeśa uvāca tvaṃ cāhaṃ ca na vai bhinnau kuru sṛṣṭiṃ prajāpate śaktiṃ gṛhāṇa maddattāṃ jagatsarjanakarmaṇi tato vai gṛhītāyāṃ śastvā brahmaṇaḥ sṛṣṭirajāyata brāhmaṇo vai mukhājjajñe bāhvoḥ kṣatramūrvorvaiśyaḥ padbhyāṃ śūdraścakṣuṣo vai sūryo manaścandramā agnirvai mukhātprāṇādvāyurnābhervyoma śīrṣṇo dyauḥ padbhyāṃ bhūmirdiśaḥ śrotrāt tathā lokānakalpayanniti tato vai sattvamuvāca tvaṃ vai viṣṇuḥ pāhi pāhi jagatsarvam viṣṇuruvāca na me śaktiḥ sovāca gṛhāṇemāṃ vidyām tato vai sattvaṃ tāmādāya jagatpāti sma haramuvāca kuru hara saṃhāram jagaddharaṇāddharo bhava haraścātmānamityavaiti sma na vai matparaṃ kiñcidviśvasyādirahaṃ hara iti garvaṃ dadhau yāvattāvadvyāptaṃ vyoma gajavaktrairmahacchabdairharaṃ hartumudyuktaiḥ haro vai vilokya rudati sma rodanādrudrasaṃjñaḥ tatastaṃ puruṣaṃ smṛtvā tuṣṭāva tvaṃ brahmā tvaṃ kartā tvaṃ pradhānaṃ tvaṃ lokān sṛjasi rakṣasi harasi viśvādhārastvamanādhāro'nādheyo'nirdeśyo'pratarkyo vyāpyedaṃ sarvaṃ tiṣṭhasīti stavanādvināyakaṃ dadarśa tataśca taṃ nanāma gaṇeśa uvāca kuru hara haraṇam tadvai saṃhartā'bhūdrudraḥ ya evaṃ veda sa gaṇeśo bhavati ityupaniṣat iti gaṇeśottaratāpinyupaniṣatsu tṛtīyopaniṣat 3 oṃ gaṇeśo vai sadajāyata tadvai paraṃ brahma tadvidāpnoti param tadeṣābhyuktā yadanādibhūtaṃ yadanantarūpaṃ yadvijñānarūpaṃ yaddevāḥ sarve brahma jyeṣṭhamupāsate na vai kāryaṃ karaṇaṃ na tatsamaścādhikaśca dṛśyaḥ sūryo'smādbhīta udeti vāto'smādbhītaḥ pavate agnirvai bhītastiṣṭhati taccitsvarūpaṃ nirvikāramadvaitaṃ ca tanmāyāśabalamajanītyāha anena yathā tamastataścomiti dhvanirabhūt sa vai gajākāraḥ anirvacanīyā saiva māyā jagadbījamityāha saiva prakṛtiriti gaṇeśa iti pradhānamiti ca māyāśabalamiti ca etasmādvai mahattattvamajāyata tataḥ karāgreṇāhaṅkāraṃ sṛṣṭavān sa vai trividhaḥ sāttviko rājasastāmasaśceti sāttvikī jñānaśaktiḥ rājasī kriyāśaktiḥ tāmasī dravyaśaktiḥ tāmasyāḥ pañcatanmātrā ajāyanta pañcabhūtānyajāyanta rājasyāḥ pañca jñānendriyāṇi pañca karmendriyāṇi pañca vāyavaścājāyanta sāttvikyā diśo vāyuḥ sūryo varuṇo'śvināviti jñānendriyadevatā agnirindro viṣṇuḥ prajāpatirmitra iti karmendriyadevatāḥ idamādipuruṣarūpam paramātmanaḥ sūkṣmaśarīramidamevocyate atha dvitīyam pañcatanmātrāḥ pañcasūkṣmabhūtānyupādāya pañcīkaraṇe kṛte pañcamahābhūtānyajāyanta avaśiṣṭānāṃ pañcapañcāśānāṃ kalpāraṃbhasamaye bhūtavibhāge caitanyapraveśādahamityabhimānaḥ tasmādādigaṇeśo bhavānucyate tato vai bhūtebhyaścaturdaśa lokā ajāyeran tadantargatajīvarāśayaḥ sthūlaśarīraiḥ saha virāḍityucyate iti dvitīyam rājaso brahmā sāttviko viṣṇustāmaso vai haraḥ trayaṃ militvā parasparamuvāca ahameva sarvasyeśa iti tato vai parasparamasahamānāścordhvaṃ jagmuḥ tatra na kiñciddadṛśuḥ tataścādhaḥpradeśe daśadikṣu bhramanto na kiñcitpaśyanti sma tato vai dhyānasthitā abhūvan tataśca hṛddeśe mahāntaṃ puruṣaṃ gajavaktramasaṃkhyaśīrṣamasaṃkhyapādamanantakaraṃ tejasā vyāptākhilalokaṃ brahmamūrdhānaṃ dikśravaṇaṃ brahmāṇḍagaṇḍaṃ cidvyomatālukaṃ satyajananaṃ ca jagadutpattyapāyonmeṣanimeṣaṃ somārkāgninetraṃ parvateśaradaṃ puṇyāpuṇyoṣṭhaṃ grahoḍudaśanaṃ bhāratījihvaṃ śakraghrāṇaṃ kulagotrāṃsaṃ somena kaṇṭhaṃ haraśiroruhaṃ sarinnadabhujamuragāṅgulikamṛkṣanakhaṃ śrīhṛtkāmākāśanābhikaṃ sāgarodaraṃ mahīkaṭideśaṃ sṛṣṭiliṅgakaṃ parvateśoruṃ dasrajānukaṃ jaṭharāntaḥsthitayakṣagandharvarakṣaḥkinnaramānuṣaṃ pātālajaṃghakaṃ municaraṇaṃ kālāṅguṣṭhakaṃ tārakājālalāṅgulaṃ dṛṣṭvā stuvanti sma yato imāni bhūtāni jāyante yato'gniḥ pṛthivyaptejo vāyuryatkarāgrādbrahmaviṣṇurudrā ajāyanta yato vai samudrāḥ saritaḥ parvatāśca yato vai carācaramiti stavanātprasanno bhūtvovācā'haṃ sarvasyeśo mattaḥ sarvāṇi bhūtāni mattaḥ sarvaṃ carācaraṃ bhavanto vai na madbhinnā guṇā me vai na saṃśayaḥ guṇeśaṃ māṃ hṛdi sañcintya rājasa tvaṃ jagatkuru sāttvika tvaṃ pālaya tāmasa tvaṃ haretyuktvāntarhitaḥ sa vai gaṇeśaḥ sarvātmā vijñeyaḥ sarvadevātmā vai sa ekaḥ ya evaṃ veda sa gaṇeśo bhavati ityupaniṣat iti gaṇeśottaratāpinyupaniṣatsu caturthopaniṣat 4 oṃ devā ha vai rudramabruvan kathametasyopāsanam sa hovāca rudro gaṇako nicṛdgāyatrī śrīgaṇapaterenaṃ mantrarājamanyonyābhāvātpraṇavasvarūpasyāsya paramātmano'ṅgāni jānīte sa jānāti so'mṛtatvaṃ ca gacchati yo'dhīte sa sarvaṃ tarati ya enaṃ mantrarājaṃ gaṇapateḥ sarvadaṃ nityaṃ japati so'gniṃ staṃbhayati sa udakaṃ staṃbhayati sa vāyuṃ staṃbhayati sa sūryaṃ staṃbhayati sa sarvāndevān staṃbhayati sa viṣaṃ staṃbhayati sa sarvopadravān staṃbhayati ityupaniṣat ya enaṃ mantrarājaṃ nityamadhīte sa vighnānākarṣayati devānyakṣān rogān grahānmanuṣyān sarvānākarṣayati sa bhūrlokaṃ jayati sa bhuvarlokaṃ jayati sa svarlokaṃ sa maharlokaṃ sa janolokaṃ sa tapolokaṃ sa satyalokaṃ sa saptalokaṃ sa sarvalokaṃ jayati so'gniṣṭomena yajate so'tyagniṣṭomena sa ukthyena sa ṣoḍaśīyena sa vājapeyena so'tirātreṇa so'ptoryāmeṇa sa sarvaiḥ kratubhiryajate ya enaṃ mantrarājaṃ vaighnarājaṃ nityamadhīte sa ṛco'dhīte sa yajūṃṣyadhīte sa sāmānyadhīte so'tharvaṇamadhīte so'ṅgirasamadhīte sa śākhā adhīte sa purāṇānyadhīte sa kalpānadhīte sa gāthā adhīte sa nārāśaṃsīradhīte sa praṇavamadhīte ya enaṃ mantrarājaṃ gāṇeśaṃ veda sa sarvaṃ veda sa sarvaṃ veda sa vedasamaḥ sa munisamaḥ sa nāgasamaḥ sa sūryasamaḥ so'gnisama iti upanītaikādhikaśataṃ gṛhasthaikādhikaśataṃ vānaprasthakādhikaśataṃ rudrajāpakasamam yatīnāmekādhikaśatamatharvaśiraḥśikhādhyāpakasamam rudrajāpakaikādhikaśatamatharvaśiraḥśikhādhyāpakaikādhikaśataṃ gāṇeśatāpanīyopaniṣadadhyāpakasamam mantrarājajāpakasya yatra ravisomau na tapato yatra vāyurnakṣatrāṇi na vāti bhānti yatrāgnirmṛtyurna dahati praviśati yatra moho na duḥkhaṃ sadānandaṃ parānandaṃ samaṃ śāśvataṃ sadāśivaṃ paraṃ brahmādivanditaṃ yogidhyeyaṃ paramaṃ padaṃ cinmātraṃ brahmaṇaspatimekākṣaramevaṃ paramātmānaṃ bāhyānte labdhāṃśaṃ hṛdi samāveśya kiñcijjaptvā tato na japo na mālā nāsanaṃ na dhyānāvāhanādi svayamavatīrṇo hyayamātmā brahma so'hamātmā catuṣpāt bahiḥprajñaḥ praviviktabhuk taijasaḥ yatra supto na kañcana kāmaṃ kāmayate na kañcana svapnaṃ paśyati tatsuṣuptam tatraikībhūtaḥ prajñānaghana evānandabhuk cetomukhaḥ prājñaḥ eṣa sarveśvaraḥ sarvāntaryāmī eṣa yoniḥ sarvabhūtānām na bahiḥprajñaṃ nāntaḥprajñaṃ nobhayataḥprajñaṃ na prajñānaghanamavyapadeśyamavyavahāryamagrāhyamalakṣaṇamacintyamaikātmyapratyayasāraṃ prapañcopaśamaṃ śivamadvaitamevaṃ catuṣpādaṃ dhyāyan sa evātmā bhavati sa ātmā vijñeyaḥ sadojjvalo'vidyātatkāryahīnaḥ svātmabandharahito dvaitarahito nirastāvidyātamomohāhaṅkārapradhānamahameva sarvamiti saṃbhāvya vighnarājabrahmaṇyamṛte tejomaye paraṃjyotirmaye sadānandamaye svaprakāśe sadodite nitye śuddhe mukte jñeśvare pare brahmaṇi ramate ramate ramate ramate ya evaṃ gaṇeśatāpanīyopaniṣadaṃ veda sa saṃsāraṃ tarati ghoraṃ tarati duḥkhaṃ tarati vighnāṃstarati mahopasargaṃ tarati ānando bhavati sa nityo bhavati sa śuddho bhavati sa mukto bhavati sa svaprakāśo bhavati sa īśvaro bhavati sa mukhyo bhavati sa vaiśvānaro bhavati sa taijaso bhavati sa prājño bhavati sa sākṣī bhavati sa eva bhavati sa sarvo bhavati sa sarvo bhavatīti ityupaniṣat oṃ sa ha nāvavatu iti gaṇeśottaratāpinyupaniṣatsu pañcamopaniṣat 5 oṃ athovāca bhagavatī gaurī ha vai rudrametasya mantrarājasyānuṣṭhānavidhiṃ me brūhīti sa hovāca rudro vidhiṃ labdhāṃśaṃ gurudevatayorālabhya manasā puṣpaṃ nivedyopakramya bhūtotsāraṇamāsanabandhādyātmarakṣāsuniyamabhūtaśuddhi-prāṇasthāpanapraṇavāvartana-mātṛpūjanāntarmātṛkāntaryāgādi sampādyātra kecana samantraṃ mūlavaidikakalpairupakramaṃ grahaṇasamarpaṇanivedanāni bāhye'nyatheti mahārghyaṃ śaṅkhaṃ tripādyorgandhādinā pūjitayoḥ sthāpya pātrāsādanaṃ dakṣiṇopakrameṇa pādyārghyācamanamadhuparka-punarācamananivedanapātrāṇi saṃsthāsu yathopadiṣṭaṃ caturthyoḥ parvaṇi saṃsthāsu yathāvidhi sthāpya nivedane prakṣālanameva tato'rvāk pañcāmṛtapātrāṇi riktaṃ ca mūlenālabhya nivedinyārghyodakenātmānaṃ pātrāṇi saṃbhāraṃ ca prokṣya pātrātiriktāni mahārghyodakena sarvanivedanaṃ karaśuddhiṃ mūlāsuniyamaṃ yathoktarṣicchandodaivataṃ smṛtvā viniyogaśca nitye pūjāṅgo japo japāṅgā pūjā japa ityaṅguṣṭhavyāpakasvāntāṣṭāṅgadaṇḍimuṇḍinyāsādi kṛtvā mukhamavekṣyātmānaṃ devarūpiṇaṃ saṃbhāvya mūrdhni puṣpaṃ dattvā pīṭhaṃ sampūjyāsanaṃ dattvā ṛṣyādi kṛtvā dhyātvā hṛdayāṃbhoje yogino'tra japanti svāntāṃbhojāddevamāvāhya mudrāṃ darśayitvā devasya sakalīkaraṇāṅguṣṭhahṛdayārpinyā svānte mudrāṃ nivedya pātrāṇi ca mūlena dattvā rikte pañcāmṛtaṃ saṃyojya tena pañcavāraṃ sakṛdvā'bhiṣicya nityena saṃtarpya kalpastavanādipuruṣasūkta-rudrādhyāyaghoṣaśāntyādinā mūlena cābhiṣicya sarvapūjāṃ nivedya dīpaṃ trirbhrāmya savyenāplāvya mahānaivedyapīṭhāvaraṇānyupasaṃhṛtya darśayet tāṃbūlānte kiñcinmūlamāvartya punardhūpāditrayabhakṣyādi nivedya mudrāḥ sarvopacārasya darśayitvā nivedanamidamāsanaṃ namaḥ pādye eṣo'rghyaḥ svāheti dakṣiṇakare'rghye idaṃ svadheti purastrike mukhe nama iti snāneṣveṣa gandho namo'kṣateṣu oṃ puṣpāṇi namaḥ puṣpeṣveṣa dhūpo dīpo namo dhūpadīpayoḥ samarpayāmīti naivedyaphalatāṃbūleṣu nivedayāmi namo hiraṇye eṣa puṣpāñjalirnama iti mālāyāmiti paramaṃ rahasyamaprakāśyaṃ bījaṃ ya evaṃ veda sa sarvaṃ veda sa sarvaṃ veda varṇārthaṃ labdhāṃśena mantrārthena ca pīṭhāvaraṇadevatāvadhānena japati sa japati mukhyaṃ labdhāṃśamāsanaṃ mṛdulaṃ bhuktariktavāsaḥkausuṃbhamāñjiṣṭha-raktakaṃbalacitramṛgavyāghrājinaṃ yathoktamuktānyatarai-rāsanāntarayojanāsphaṭikakamala-bhadrākṣamaṇimuktāpravālarudrākṣa- kuśagranthiṣu japati sa japati kuśamayī nityākṣālanaṃ candanālepo dhūpenābhimantrya pṛthagabhimantraṇaṃ sadyojātaiḥ pañcabhiḥ prāṇasthāpanajīvanatarpaṇaguptāni ca svamūle guhyaṃ vāmena spṛśenna darśayet evaṃ śrāvaṇe pavitreṇa madhau damanena japamālayā mahānavamyāṃ tāpasyāṃ caturthyāṃ tilalaḍḍukaiḥ saptamyāṃ śītalacandanena śivarātryāṃ bilvadalamālayā'nyasminparvaṇi mahatyārcayanti te'rcayanti modakapṛthukalājasakturaṃbhāphalekṣunārīkelāpūpānanyāni ca yathopadiṣṭamāhutibhirjuhoti japaśca prākpravaṇe homo'nyathopāsyaḥ evaṃ yaḥ karoti so'mṛtatvaṃ vindati sa pratiṣṭhāṃ prāpnoti muktiṃ vindati bhuktiṃ bhunakti vācaṃ vadati yaśo labhate idaṃ rahasyaṃ yo jānāti sa jānāti yo'dhīte so'dhīte sa ānando bhavati sa nityo bhavati sa viśuddho bhavati sa mukto bhavati sa prakāśo bhavati sa dayāvānbhavati jñānavānbhavatyānandavānbhavati vijñānavānbhavati vijñānānando bhavati so'mṛtatvaṃ bhavatyamṛtatvaṃ bhavatīti oṃ saha nāvavatviti śāntiḥ iti gaṇeśottaratāpinyupaniṣatsu ṣaṣṭhopaniṣat 6
