About

Varaha Jayanti commemorates the appearance of Lord Varaha, who rescued the earth from the ocean depth. It is observed on Bhadrapada Shukla Tritiya with special prayers during Madhyahna.

Significance:

Lord Varaha is the third avatar of Vishnu, appearing as a boar to defeat the demon Hiranyaksha and lift the earth (Bhudevi) back to its orbit. Devotees pray for protection and liberation from difficulties.

Rituals & Puja Vidhi:

1. Varaha Puja: Worshipping the deity, especially the form holding Bhudevi, during Madhyahna. 2. Fasting: Observing a fast or partaking in simple food until the puja is completed. 3. Offerings: Offering yellow flowers, coconut, and sweets.
