About

Shravana Somavaram refers to the auspicious Mondays occurring during the month of Shravana, which is considered the most sacred month for the worship of Lord Shiva.

Significance:

It is believed that Lord Shiva is exceptionally pleased by the devotion offered during this month. Fasting on these Mondays is said to fulfill one's spiritual and material desires and bring peace to the household.

Rituals & Puja Vidhi:

1. Fasting: Devotees observe a fast from sunrise to sunset, often consuming only water and fruits. 2. Abhishekam: Performing Rudra Abhishekam to the Shiva Linga with milk, water, and honey. 3. Bilva Patra: Offering three-leafed Bilva leaves to the Lord while reciting 'Om Namah Shivaya'. 4. Recitation: Reciting the Maha Mrityunjaya Stotram and the Shiva Purana.
