About
Radha Ashtami commemorates the appearance of Shri Radha, who manifested fifteen days after Krishna Janmashtami in the village of Barsana. She is the embodiment of 'Hladini Shakti' (the energy of bliss).
Significance:
In the Vaishnava tradition, Krishna is believed to be accessible only through the grace of Radha. Her selfless love and complete surrender serve as the ultimate model for a devotee (Bhakta).
Rituals & Puja Vidhi:
1. Mid-day Puja: The main worship is performed during Abhijit Muhurta, the time of her appearance. 2. Abhishekam: The idol of Radha Rani is bathed with milk, honey, and curd. 3. Braj Celebration: In Mathura and Vrindavan, grand feasts and cultural programs are organized. 4. Recitation: Reciting the Radha Sahasranama and singing bhajans dedicated to the Divine Couple.
