Mangala Gauri Vrat
Mangala Gauri Vrat is a sacred observance held on every Tuesday of the month of Shravana. It is primarily observed by newly married women for the health, long life, and prosperity of their husbands.
The vrat is dedicated to Goddess Gauri, the embodiment of Shakti and the ideal of marital devotion. It is believed to bless the household with harmony and protect the well-being of the family.
1. Installation: A small image or idol of Goddess Gauri is placed on a pedestal. 2. Shodashopachara Puja: The Goddess is worshipped with flowers, vermilion, turmeric, and sweets. 3. Vrat Katha: Women gather to listen to the stories and legends associated with Mangala Gauri. 4. Fasting: A partial fast is observed where devotees eat simple, saltless food once a day.
