About
Hariyali Teej falls on the third day of the Shukla Paksha in Shravana. It celebrates the lush greenery brought by the monsoons and commemorates the day Goddess Parvati was reunited with Lord Shiva after centuries of penance.
Significance:
It symbolizes growth, vitality, and the power of devotion. Women dress in green, representing the vibrancy of nature, and celebrate with songs and dances.
Rituals & Puja Vidhi:
1. Swings: Swings are hung from trees, and women enjoy swinging while singing traditional folk songs. 2. Gauri-Shiva Puja: Devotees worship Shiva and Parvati for marital happiness and longevity. 3. Green Attire: Women wear green sarees and bangles, and apply henna on their hands. 4. Sweets: Traditional sweets like Ghewar are prepared and shared with friends and family.
