About

Guru Purnima is a day of profound gratitude dedicated to the spiritual and academic teachers who guide us from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge. It is traditionally celebrated on the full moon day of Ashadha.

Significance:

The day marks the birth anniversary of Sage Veda Vyasa, the legendary compiler of the Vedas and author of the Mahabharata. It also marks the start of Chaturmas, the four-month period of spiritual study and meditation.

Rituals & Puja Vidhi:

1. Guru Puja: Devotees visit their spiritual teachers to offer respect and seek their blessings. 2. Vyasa Puja: Special prayers are performed to honor Sage Vyasa as the original teacher. 3. Satsang: Participating in spiritual discourses and singing devotional hymns. 4. Meditation: Spending the day in reflection on the wisdom received from one's guides.
