About

Gayatri Jayanti celebrates the manifestation of Goddess Gayatri, who is revered as the 'Veda Mata' or the Mother of the Vedas. It is celebrated on the full moon day of Shravana in many traditions.

Significance:

Goddess Gayatri represents the collective power of all the gods and is the personification of the sacred Gayatri Mantra. This day is observed to seek spiritual enlightenment, wisdom, and the removal of the darkness of ignorance.

Rituals & Puja Vidhi:

1. Mantra Japa: Chanting the Gayatri Mantra 108 times, ideally while facing the rising sun. 2. Gayatri Puja: Performing a special worship of the Goddess with incense, lamps, and flowers. 3. Havan: Participating in a sacred fire ritual (Havan) while reciting Vedic hymns. 4. Charity: Giving food or spiritual books to others as an act of service.
