About

Bhishma Panchak, also known as Vishnu Panchak, is a five-day fasting period observed in the month of Kartika. It commemorates the time when Bhishma Pitamaha lay on the bed of arrows and imparted his final teachings.

Significance:

Observing this fast is believed to bring immense spiritual merit and liberation. Devotees dedicate these five days to the worship of Lord Krishna and Bhishma.

Rituals & Puja Vidhi:

1. Fasting: Devotees observe a strict fast for five days, consuming only water, milk, or fruits. 2. Arghya: Offering Arghya to Bhishma Pitamaha every day. 3. Puja: Daily worship of Lord Vishnu and lighting of ghee lamps. 4. Conclusion: The fast is broken on Kartika Purnima.
