About

Sankatahara Chaturthi, also known as Sankashti, is observed on the fourth day of the waning moon (Krishna Paksha) every month. It is a day dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the destroyer of obstacles.

Significance:

The word 'Sankatahara' means 'remover of difficulties'. Observing this fast with devotion is believed to help the devotee overcome complex life problems, gain mental peace, and achieve success in their endeavors. It is particularly valued when it falls on a Tuesday (Angaraka Chaturthi).

Rituals & Puja Vidhi:

1. Ganesha Puja: Worshipping the deity with Durva grass, red flowers, and his favorite sweets like Modaks. 2. Fasting: Observing a fast from sunrise until the moon is sighted in the evening. 3. Arghya: Offering water (Arghya) and flowers to the moon as part of the concluding rituals. 4. Katha: Reciting or listening to the Vrat Katha which describes the power of Ganesha's grace.
