Masika Krishna Janmashtami is a monthly remembrance of the divine appearance of Lord Krishna. It is traditionally anchored to the night when the Krishna Paksha Ashtami tithi is present during the midnight hours.
This monthly observance allows devotees to maintain a constant connection with the Lord's divine plays (Leelas). It commemorates the moment when light entered the world to destroy unrighteousness and restore Dharma.
1. Midnight Puja: Performing a simple worship of Balakrishna at the stroke of midnight. 2. Recitation: Reciting the 'Krishna Ashtakam' or listening to the stories of Krishna's birth from the Bhagavata Purana. 3. Fasting: Observing a day-long fast and breaking it after the midnight puja. 4. Bhajans: Singing devotional songs to invite the Lord into one's heart.
