About
Masika Durgashtami is a monthly observance dedicated to Goddess Durga, the supreme protector and destroyer of evil. It falls on the eighth day of the Shukla Paksha every month.
Significance:
Ashtami is considered a highly potent day for invoking the Divine Mother. Worshipping Goddess Durga on this day helps devotees overcome life's obstacles, gain mental strength, and seek protection from negative influences. It represents the triumph of Shakti.
Rituals & Puja Vidhi:
1. Durga Puja: Worshipping the Goddess with red flowers, incense, and oil lamps. 2. Recitation: Reciting the Durga Chalisa or sacred verses from the Durga Saptashati. 3. Fasting: Observing a partial or full-day fast to show devotion and purify the mind. 4. Kanya Puja: Offering food or small gifts to young girls as a manifestation of the Goddess.
