Bhanu Saptami is observed when Saptami tithi falls on a Sunday. It is considered a very powerful day for Sun worship, as Sunday is dedicated to Surya Deva.
Significance:
Worshipping the Sun on this day is believed to grant good health, vitality, and longevity. It is said that prayers offered on Bhanu Saptami are as meritorious as those offered during a solar eclipse. It helps in gaining mental clarity and physical energy.
Rituals & Puja Vidhi:
1. Surya Arghya: Offering water to the rising Sun while chanting the 'Gayatri Mantra' or 'Surya Ashtakam'. 2. Aditya Hridaya: Reciting the 'Aditya Hridayam' hymn for protection and success. 3. Holy Bath: Taking a dip in a sacred river or lake during sunrise. 4. Charity: Donating wheat, copper, or red clothes to the needy or Brahmins.
