About Choghadiya

Choghadiya is a simple Vedic method to identify favorable times (muhurthas) for new tasks, often used for travel but applicable to any activity, divided into day (sunrise-sunset) and night (sunset-sunrise) cycles. Four types are auspicious (Amrit, Shubh, Labh, Char), while three are unfavorable (Rog, Kaal, Udveg). Choghadiya timings are not the same everyday of the week and varies based on location, weekday, sunrise, sunset in that timezone. Key points regarding Choghadiya: • Best times: Amrit (nectar), Shubh (auspicious), Labh (gain), and Char (moving/beneficial) are ideal for starting work. • Times to avoid: Rog (sickness), Kaal (time), and Udveg (restless) should generally be avoided. • Time division: Day and night are each split into eight parts, creating a 24-hour cycle of auspicious or inauspicious periods. • Prohibited periods: Vaar Vela, Kaal Vela, and Kaal Ratri are specific times to avoid for auspicious work, as they are considered unproductive. • Day vs night: Vaar Vela and Kaal Vela occur during the day; Kaal Ratri occurs at night.
